This extraordinary antique Victor Electrola cabinet has been given an entirely new life as a one-of-a-kind piece of functional art.
Originally made by the Victor Talking Machine Company, this cabinet was designed to house one of Victor's electrically amplified Electrola phonographs. The original Electrola marking and Victor emblem remain preserved inside the cabinet, offering a wonderful glimpse into its musical past.
Rather than traditionally restore the cabinet, I chose to transform it into something completely new while preserving the history and character that make the original piece special.
The exterior has been completely hand-finished in a deep, moody blue with dimensional copper, bronze and warm-toned accents that highlight the cabinet's architectural details. The door panels feature dramatic decorative artwork in rich coral, orange, blue, purple and dark tones, creating a bold contrast against the blue finish. The entire piece is finished in a flat matte sealer. Beautiful and heavy duty, the new hardware adds that bit of glam to this piece. The drop pulls are heavy, solid metal and cobalt faceted glass for a sparkle.
The cabinet is finished with new, taller tapered legs. At some point in its history, the original legs had been cut down, altering the proportions of the cabinet. The new black metal legs give it an eclectic look while complementing the contemporary artistic finish.
The original interior has been carefully cleaned and preserved rather than painted or covered, retaining its dark vintage character and the original Electrola marking. I did add a lower shelf to improve functionality. There are four generous vertical storage cubbies at 13" that works especially well for vinyl albums.

Please note: Delivery is to the interior, first-floor level only (just inside the main entrance; not to upper floors, specific rooms, or further placement). Due to the drivers' routes and schedules, arranging delivery can take up to 6–7 weeks, though I’ll do everything possible to get your item to you as quickly as I can. Transit times vary depending on your location, as the shipper typically travels between multiple stops, picking up and dropping off items along the way. (The fastest deliveries have arrived in under a week from purchasing!)
