These are new old stock (NOS), retaining their original paper label with classic typography and branding. The socks feature a traditional ribbed knit and over-the-calf length, typical of early-to-mid 20th century men’s hosiery. The slogan “The Foot Glove” is key. It was heavily used in 1910s–1920s advertising, when companies were emphasizing fit and comfort innovations in knit hosiery. This label style is very typical of 1915–1930 packaging.
“Black Cat” hosiery was a well-known American brand, and pieces with original labels are increasingly sought after for vintage clothing collections, costume design, or display.
